(Aalst, 1993)  – Master degree of photography at School of Arts, Ghent.

 Tysje makes photographs that are based on the reality of life, but they seem to be rather surreal.

When she considers a location, most of the objects are removed out of the frame in order to get a clear image. 

The atmosphere of her photographs is created by using everyday objects in an unusual context.

Next to this mystification, humour is a recurring characteristic.

Tysje is inspired by painters, such as René Magritte and Michaël Borremans.
